On the approval of the Agreement on uniform competition rules
On January 18, 2023, the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus approved the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on Uniform Competition Rules, which entered into force on January 23, 2023.
We would like to remind you that the intergovernmental agreement was signed by the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, Alexey Bogdanov, and the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation, Maksim Shaskolsky, in Moscow on November 9, 2022, as part of the implementation of the Union Program in the field of unified competition rules.
The agreement defines uniform rules of competition operating in the territory of the Union state, which, in turn, will allow subjects to create uniform conditions of work on commodity markets, and for antimonopoly bodies to jointly respond to anticompetitive practices and develop uniform approaches to their elimination.
The implementation of the Union program in the field of uniform competition rules is a significant step on the way to deepening the integration not only between competition agencies, but also the states as a whole. The mutual interest of Belarus and Russia in the supply of goods requires competition agencies to create equal and transparent working conditions on the market.
