On October 2, 2019, in Minsk, as part of the fourteenth meeting of the Belarusian-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, the Memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Economic of the Republic of Latvia was signed.

The memorandum provides:

  1. the exchange of non-confidential information in the field of consumer protection, market control and competition policy (for example, changes in national legislation, current policies, etc.);
  2. exchange of experience in the field of investigation of violations of antitrust (competition) legislation, legislation on consumer protection and advertising;
  3. exchange of experience in the field of advocacy of competition and cooperation with authorities of other countries and national state bodies;
  4. the organization of study tours and preparatory courses for experts, including those involved in court cases.
It had been terminated on August 13, 2022 at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Latvia.
