Cooperation with the Commission for Protection of Competition of the Republic of Serbia
On April 19, 2017, within the framework of the tenth meeting of the Belarusian-Serbian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the Field of Competition Policy between the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus and the Commission for Protection of Competition of the Republic of Serbia was signed.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to develop and strengthen cooperation in the sphere of competition policy.
Cooperation between the Parties in accordance with this Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation will be implemented on the basis of the current legislation of the States of the Parties, including legislation on the protection of confidential information.
The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus and the Commission for the Protection of Competition of the Republic of Serbia have reached mutual understanding that their common interests include the exchange of non-confidential information, experience and opinions on the development of competition policy of mutual interest.
In addition, the antimonopoly authorities of the two states identified that the Party that determines that the actions carried out on its territory have or may have an effect on competition in the territory of the other Party shall notify the other Party about this, and also if it determines, that actions carried out in the territory of the other Party have or may have an impact on competition on its territory.
The Party that has accepted such notification will consider the possibility of applying appropriate measures that are within its competence in accordance with national legislation and will inform the other Party about it.
