The fifth Meeting of the Belarusian-Egyptian Joint Trade Commission was held in Cairo On 28-29 November, 2018
On 28-29 November, 2018, the fifth Meeting of the Belarusian-Egyptian Joint Trade Commission (the Commission) was held in Cairo under the chairmanship of the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Koltovich and the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt Amr Nassar. During the Meeting of the Commission the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in various fields: trade and investment, industry, agriculture, petrochemistry, transport, finance, communications and information technologies, wood processing, energy, science and research, education, environmental protection, sports and tourism, healthcare, culture.
Taking part in the Meeting on Belarus' side were representatives of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Industry Ministry, the Ministry of Communications, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Belgospischeprom Concern, Amkodor, Atomtex, BELAZ, Belkommunmash, MAZ, MTZ, Minsk Motor Plant, Gomselmash, as well as representatives of the Belarusian Embassy in Egypt. Taking part in the Meeting on Egypt's side were a number of enterprises and partner organizations.
A meeting with representatives of the Egyptian business community in the format of a round table, a meeting of the bilateral working group on industry, a press conference, as well as a meeting with the Prime Minister of Egypt were held within the framework of the Commission.
As a result of the event, a Comprehensive program ("Road map") for the development of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Arab Republic of Egypt for 2019 – 2020 was initialed. In addition, the final Protocol of the fifth Meeting of the Commission, a Memorandum of understanding between Amkodor, the National Organization for Military Production, the Egyptian company for agricultural development in the field of organization of assembly production and localization of equipment of Amkodor in Egypt were signed.
This event is considered by the Belarusian and Egyptian sides as an important step in the preparation of the response visit of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Belarus in 2019.
