Memorandum on Cooperation with the People's Republic of China was signed in MART

By the invitation of the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Koltovich, the delegation of the State Administration for Market Regulation of the People's Republic of China, headed by Deputy Chairman Ms. Gan Lin, visited the Republic of Belarus on September 23, 2019.

During the visit, negotiations on relevant issues of bilateral cooperation were held at the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.

The Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Koltovich informed his Chinese colleagues about the work of the ministry, about the main directions of its activities, including the establishment of cooperation with antimonopoly authorities of other countries and international organizations, and also invited representatives of the Chinese antimonopoly authority to attend the international conference “Development of Competition for industry markets: theoretical and practical aspects”, which will be held November 13-14 this year in Minsk.

Ms. Gan Lin noted that the Chinese side is interested in exchanging experience and law enforcement practices in the field of antimonopoly activities with Belarusian colleagues and invited MART representatives to participate in the 9th Competition Policy Forum and Competition Development Seminars organized by the People's Republic of China for their partners in project “One belt - one way”.

At the end of the negotiations, a Memorandum on Cooperation in the field of Competition and Price Supervision, Consumer Rights Protection and Regulation of Advertising Activity between the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus and the State Administration for Market Regulation of the People’s Republic of China was signed.

The document aims to enhance the exchange of non-confidential information in the field of competition and pricing policies, consumer protection and regulation of advertising, as well as the exchange of experience in the investigation of violations of antimonopoly (competition) legislation, legislation on consumer protection and advertising, the procedure for the formation and application prices (tariffs), competition advocacy, interaction with antimonopoly authorities, and regulatory authorities (organizations) prices (tariffs), other countries and national government bodies.

The parties emphasized that the signed memorandum opens a new page in business cooperation in the field of antimonopoly activities between our countries.
